Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we collect it, and who else ends up seeing it. Written to be read, not to be survived.

1.What we collect
Because you gave it to us:
- Your username, and an email address or a phone number — you need at least one of the two to have an account.
- Your password, stored only as a bcrypt hash. We never see it and can never send it back to you.
- Optional profile details you can choose to add at signup: date of birth, country, state, gender and postcode.
- A profile picture, if you upload one.
- Anything you type into public places — chat, the Degen Index, suggestions.
- Support conversations by email or Discord.
Because you connected an account:
- Discord: your Discord ID, username, avatar and email address.
- Google: your Google ID, email address, name and avatar.
- Steam: your SteamID, and your public persona name and avatar.
- X: your X ID, username and avatar. X does not give us an email address.
Because the site works:
- Your IP address, the country it resolves to, and your browser user-agent. We record these on every login and on each request to the sports tools, to catch shared accounts and fraud.
- Every bet, game round, deposit, withdrawal, claim and balance change.
- Your crypto deposit addresses and any withdrawal address you give us.
- Which sportsbook links you click through to.
- Login streaks, levels, XP and referral relationships.
We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone.
2.Why we're allowed to hold it
- To run your account and the games — without this there is no service to provide.
- To stop fraud and abuse — multi-accounting, bonus farming, bots and laundering. This is our legitimate interest, and it is why we keep IP addresses.
- Because the law says so — financial and transaction records have to be kept whatever either of us would prefer.
- Because you said yes — marketing email only. You opt in, and you can opt out at any time.
3.Who else sees it
We use other companies to run parts of the service. Each one only gets what it needs for its job:
We will also hand over data where we are legally required to, and if the business is ever sold, records move with it.
4.How long we keep it
Account and transaction records are kept for as long as your account exists, and for a period afterwards to meet financial-record and anti-fraud obligations — currently [5 years] from closure.
- Security events (IP address, country, user-agent) are currently kept indefinitely.
- Completed game rounds are moved into an archive after a short window; they are archived, not erased.
- Chat messages are kept indefinitely.
- Your recent country/IP history is held for 30 days.
- Unsubscribing from the newsletter keeps a record of the address — that record is how we know not to email you again.
5.Your rights
Depending on where you live — in particular in the UK, EU and California — you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict what we do with it, or to object to it. Email support@sportsdegens.gg from the address on your account and we’ll respond within one month.
Marketing is different — you can leave the newsletter instantly using the unsubscribe link in any email, with no need to ask us.
6.Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Two-factor authentication is available and worth turning on. Traffic is encrypted in transit. Withdrawals over a threshold get human review before any money moves.
None of that makes any service perfect. Use a password you don’t use anywhere else, and tell us immediately if you think someone else is in your account.
7.Children
Sports Degens is for adults only and you must be 18 or over. We don’t knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18. If we find out an account belongs to a minor we close it and delete the data. If you believe a child is using the site, email us and we’ll act on it.
8.Cookies and local storage
We use browser storage for the things that make the site work: keeping you signed in, remembering which coin you’re betting with, which side of the site you came from, and a referral code if you arrived through someone’s link. Cloudflare sets its own cookies for security. There are no advertising cookies. Clearing storage signs you out and forgets those preferences.
9.International transfers
Our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires it we rely on approved safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
10.Changes
When this policy changes we’ll update the date at the top, and for anything significant we’ll say so on the site. Carrying on using Sports Degens after a change means you accept the new version.
